What does a clinical psychologist know about authoring a book or being an artist? More than you might think. Listening to other people’s stories, and helping them rewrite them, has deeply influenced my art of story-receiving and story-telling.
I’m a retired, 70+ year old psychologist, and I have been immersed in thousands of hours of people’s heartfelt stories. I have pursued writing, painting, ceramics. and sculpting throughout my life. Now I get a chance to weave my own stories through my art. That’s why I’m inviting you to spend some time in my virtual house. I want to share my stories with you.
My art comes from my own heart.

Friends have called me a Renaissance Man. I think that’s a nice way of saying that I’m all over the place in my interests. I stick my finger into many different kinds of pie. I’ve been a lifelong learner, and a voracious reader. I’ve been a professor of psychology and social work on a college campus. I’ve been a clinical psychologist, and a social worker. I’m a husband, father of two, the grandfather of six, and a friend of many. I’ve been a world traveler (around 30 different countries) and consultant in cross-cultural work. I’ve been a crisis counselor and trauma specialist. I’ve been around the track quite a few times.
My art reflects the mélange of my relationships, my experiences, and my own pain and restorations. My art is a passion… A calling… And even a compulsion. I have a vivid imagination and love to think outside the box. My art is nature-based, imaginative, whimsical, and eclectic. I use paint, clay, found objects, sculptural wood, metal, organic matter, and stone. Most of it is one-of-a-kind.
I want to engage your own imagination.
