YESTERDAY’S MANNA

The Israelites hungered for stable sustenance in the wilderness. They begged for food, and God provided a mystery bread called manna. They were instructed to gather manna freshly every morning, but not to try to save it up. Some disobeyed. When they went to the stored-up manna, they discovered that it was rotted and maggot-ridden. We cannot store up God’s graces as a way to self-protect. Dependence is a daily challenge.
