These are stories that have been inspired by my own life, Scripture, and my own meditation. They encapsulate my desire to communicate insights I’ve received. They are parables in the sense that their meaning may not be very overt. Parables retell reality with metaphors. They can spark empathic connections.
However, they require a willingness to stop, listen, and reflect. There is no prescribed “right way” to interpret them. They are intentional stories with embedded meaning. I am trying to tell a story with each piece of my art. I have placed the Biblical reference that inspired the piece, and a short meditative thought beside each piece. I am hoping to “prime the pump” of your own insights.
In Genesis, God curses the serpent (Satan). He predicts that Satan will strike Adam’s heel, but one is coming who will crush Satan’s head. The curse for Satan: You will eat the dust of the ground. Ceramic and lichen
Great website! I love the living parables section. Your pieces are provocative and well imaged so I can see good detail. So happy you have this platform to display them.
thanks john for the encouraging feedback!
I really value it
